Espacenet patent
Report data errors or omissions to steward Stan Schulz
Description:
No drawing shown in "Abridgments of Specifications" provisional registration; the description matches many aspects of Port's U.S. patent 290,106 for CONVERTIBLE TOOL granted Dec. 11, 1883. In keeping with British patent options of the time, the patent was issued in the name of British patent agent H. J. Haddan.

Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #4477 of the year 1883.

As noted in the corresponding U.S. patent entry, GB-189122707 is a further evolution of this combination tool concept which saw production as "PORT'S UNIVERSAL WRENCH."
