This self-adjusting locking pliers uses sliding wedges in one handle as the "anchor" for the toggle. This patent together with 2,576,286 and 2,997,903 is cited on the ChannelLock 910 Grip-Lock locking pliers. A 1966 ChanneLLock GripLock 910 ad identifies the tension spring on the tool with this patent.
