An improved full width adjustable stop for the smooth jaw of an "alligator wrench" -- although not noted in the specifications, the wrench in question is patent no. 404,619.

British patent GB-188909296 (registered June 4, 1889), German patent DE-50326 (effective June 4, 1889) and Canadian patent CA-34,269 (granted May 7, 1890) combine features of both patents into one set of claims.
