Description: |
The adjusting screw is hinged to the base of the movable jaw with a compression spring to keep it engaged with rack teeth on the shank. Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-103,072 was granted Jan. 15, 1907.
An October, 1908 ENGINEERING REVIEW item announced Ewer's participation in formation of the DETROIT WRENCH CO. to produce pipe and monkey wrenches.
A known example marked with this patent date and the Aug. 16, 1910 subsequent patent (no. 967,355) has nut wrench jaws. |
