Description: |
| Although the title says "weaner," the specifications describe use as a muzzle to prevent eating from fruit trees, stored hay, etc.
As in Patterson's earlier patents, a counter-balanced upper member hinged to a lower member is designed so that the pieces open to allow grazing when the head is lowered, but close and latch when the head is raised. In this design, the device is made of "wire edged" sheet metal pieces.
In the drawings, Fig. 1 & 3 show the position with the parts "open" for grazing, and Fig. 4 & 5 show the position with the parts closed when the animal's head is raised. |
