Vintage Machinery entry for Farnham Mfg. Co.; Wiesner-Rapp Co.
Description:
This milling machine was specialized for making spar caps for aircraft wings. The inventor was past president of Farnham Mfg. Co. of Buffalo which had been acquired by Wiesner-Rapp in 1950. During the war, Dubosclard-designed spar millers were a crucial part of American superiority in aircraft manufacture which in turn was a key part of the Allied victory. His contribution has been largely forgotten.
