Description:
This ruler looks somewhat like an engineering scale with six sides instead of the usual three. Unlike an engineer's scale, however, it does not use different scales on each face-- all faces are marked in inches.

Each edge of this ruler is cut with a decorative pattern, but also features a straight edge just above it. By varying the angle of the pen you could get either a decorative line or straight line. It could also be used like a rolling ruler to draw multiple parallel lines.

Known examples are made of hard rubber, and are marked with the patent date.
