Thomas R. Ellin (Grace's Guide)
Description:
Entry based on appearance in "Illustrated Journal of the Patent Office." The abridgment describes the use of stamped, folded sheet metal for pliers, wrenches, etc. Ellin's company developed a series of hand tools based on this principle, and adopted the brand "FOOTPRINT" for the tools.

Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent #, with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits. This patent is #14,065 of the year 1886.
