Description:
The inventor grew up in Prescott, Kansas and then Kansas City, then moved to San Francisco. In 1903 he built the first American dirigible, in San Francisco, and reached a height of 200 feet. That was the same year that the Wright Brothers made the first airplane flight. His fiancee was killed in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Although he lived to 85, he never married. As for this invention, we find no evidence that it was ever manufactured.
