Description:
This patent describes the tremolo mechanism used on early Fender electric guitars. See our description for patent 2,972,923 for some hints on the shortcomings of this early design. One novelty of this earlier Fender design is the integration with the bridge. Compare this patent's mechanism to that of patent 2,241,911 (an earlier and non-Fender tremolo design) where bridge and tremolo were not as cleanly integrated and appear to require much more effort to install.
