Description: |
This patent does not mention its predecessor, patent 2,005,976 from 1935. But by comparing the two we can see that this version of the leg mechanism provides more unobstructed room at the pointed end of the ironing board, useful when ironing garment sleeves or legs. In addition the new mechanism uses bent rods in place of some of the rigid tubing of the earlier design, which likely reduced costs. All components except the table appear to be made of steel. |
