Description:
The invention here is acoustic suspension which involves a sealed speaker enclosure which provides much improved frequency response for a speaker in a smaller enclosure. It took some time for the idea to become widely adopted but nowadays stereo speakers are much smaller than they were in the mid to late 20th century thanks to this invention.
