Description: |
| ABSTRACT: "The pawls of a reversible ratchet wrench are arranged in the head parallel to the axis of rotation in a circle round it and are provided on part of their circumference with teeth engaging teeth on the inner surface of an adjusting ring for the purpose of reversing the pawls. The pawls (f) are urged by springs (g) into engagement with notches (h) in the driver (b). Rotation of the pawls on their axes through 180 [degrees] for reversing the action of the wrench is effected by the adjusting ring (e) having internal toothed portions (k) engaging spaces (i) between teeth on the circumference of the pawls, the ends of the toothed sections (k) limiting the rotation of the ring. (The patent application is filed in the Company name, rather than naming an individual).
ESPACENET identifies corresponding patents including German DE-425,020 and U.S. 1,629,500.
An "ALL-IN-ONE" set distributed in the U.S. by Emil Schwarz (Chicago) has been identified as corresponding to these patents. Some features of the set appear to correspond to earlier German patent DE-402,483 and corresponding British patent GB-205,819. |
