Description: |
D.C. Stillson's improvements / modifications to modify his Oct. 12, 1869 pipe wrench patent 95,744 to produce a smooth jaw nut wrench. The movable jaw has no rocking motion, and the frame holding the movable jaw and adjusting nut has rigid attachment to the handle. The patent is not noted on early Stillson wrench production, nor in advertising from the period. Walworth may have incorporated features from this patent into their Stillson wrench production; C.C. Walworth's Aug. 8, 1882 patent no. 262,263 has a similar rigid connection between the handle and frame. |
