Description: |
The gear wheel connecting the lever handle to the rack teeth of the sliding jaw and the shape of the movable jaw and the slot combine to hold the jaw in whatever position it is set. The spring-loaded pawl on the lever handle allows the handle to be repositioned in relation the the gear wheel.
The tool as produced uses a different mechanism to connect the movable jaw and handle; there is no retractable pawl on the lever handle, and the movable jaw structure incorporates an adjusting screw. (See patent no. 2,654,282.) |
