| Description: | | The patent is for metal stamping and bending processes to form closed handles and jaws for pliers, punches, etc. The Wm. Schollhorn Company used this patent in conjunction with other Bernard patents for lines of pliers, punches, and similar tools with "closed-in handles."
For example the SCHOLLHORN IDEAL pliers shows this patent date together with the date for 788,575. The patent is noted in Bernard's pliers patent no. 1,057,113 granted March 25, 1913.
Patent no. 1,064,956 covers a later process for forming closed handles for BERNARD type pliers. A 5-inch BERNARD pliers with side cutter and nipper jaws has marks for both handle forming patents, along with marks relating to the cutter jaws. | |
