Description: |
Abstract:
Detachable driving-wheels of steam wagons &c. are secured to flanged sleeves b, f, one of which is connected directly to the axle and the other to the differential gearing. The sleeve may carry the brake drum p, or a separate brake drum may be used. The fastenings consist of conical headed bolts j, the heads of which project through the part f into partly conical bores in the wheel m. The flange f and brake drum p are enclosed substantially within the rim of the wheel. The end of the wheel hub projects into a recess in the sleeve b. |
