This is not a patent for a marking gage per se, but rather for a
head locking mechanism which could be used on a marking gage. It
is a fairly typical micro-adjuster design, shown as being
suitable for a scratch gage, surface gage, or vernier caliper. It
looks like it would work pretty well.
