| Description: | | The patent for a Coes type wrench includes an adjustable jaw with an integral threaded screw, and a couple of alternate detents to hold the threaded adjusting rosette in position. It also includes the use of a metal handle or metal handle frame.
The adjustment means of a threaded rod parallel to the main shank, with adjustment by a knurled nut is a departure from the typical Coes adjusting screw. It was used in the Coes Auto Wrench, except the rod was fastened to the handle, and the adjusting ring was located in the movable jaw. The Coes Auto Wrench arrangement was not patented. | |
