Description: |
The patented features include the shape of the adjustable jaw, a retaining lock nut on the base of the adjusting screw, and the use of a sliding wedge key combined with notches in the main shank and corresponding lugs on the inner portion of the adjustable jaw. This patent is the basis for the Coes Key Model wrench which was produced in four sizes: 28, 36, 48 and 72 inches.
Miniaturist Hilary Klein produced a brass miniature of this wrench; a 9 inch brass salesman's sample is also known. Only two examples of the 72 inch KEY MODEL are known as of spring 2015; one will be used and shown at "Rough and Tumble" at Kinzers, PA. |
