Description: |
| An extended adjusting knob turns through a base held in contact to a rack on the shank by a spring. The base can be lifted and shifted on the rack for quick coarse adjustment, and the knob serves both for fine adjustment and as a handle to lift the rack-engaging base. Known examples are made of iron, brass and hardwoods and are prized by collectors.
Miniaturist Hilary Klein produced miniature versions of this wrench "as drawn" and "as produced." |
