Description: |
The patented features include a wire-cutting notch and jaw tips designed to grip bolt heads including carriage bolts. The pliers features multiple pivot points connected by a slot in the fashion of slip-joint pliers. The jaws at 45 degrees to the handle can reach into tight places. The handle ends have a screwdriver and a tack claw. Schlehr also had an earlier related patent (no. 1,016,296) granted Feb. 6, 1912. Both designs were marketed as EAGLE CLAW. Both designs are shown in trademark no. 72,618 dated November 25, 1913, applied for September 2, 1913. British patent GB-191200899 registered Jan. 11, 1912 shows both the "straight" and 45-degree angle jaw forms, and adds a 2nd patentee. |
