| Description: | | The patent is an improvement on Mead's November 12, 1929 pipe wrench patent (no. 1,735,257). The movable jaw has two angular indentations to accommodate a wider range of sizes, and a "thumb cam" to open the jaw. The spring holding the jaw in the closed position is modified from the earlier patent. The drawing also shows a square opening and textured grip in the handle which are features of some MASTERENCH wrenches, although they are not mentioned in this patent's specifications. | |
