| Description: | | Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" cites an 1892 "Iron Age" listing showing this patent incorporated in the CHAMPION chain pipe wrench produced by the Ithaca Drop Forge Company of Ithaca, NY. In particular, the crescent shaped projections on the side of the chain links appear in the CHAMPION chain wrench. The wrench also incorporated features of Bufford's Dec. 9, 1890 patents (442,306 and 442,569).
Several later Bufford chain wrench patents were assigned to the J.H. Williams Co. of Brooklyn, NY. | |
