| Description: | | An "L" shaped slot in the handle provides sliding leverage to clamp two arc-edged segments together for opening or closing jar lids. The inner edge of the rim on the arc-shaped segments has serrations to grip the jar lid. This wrench fits only one size of lid.
A 1903 ad shows this opener along with a T&B Fruit Jar Holder (pat. no 723,980) and a TRIUMPH FRUIT JAR WRENCH (pat. no. 743,227) produced by Forbes Chocolate Co. of Cleveland. One 1903 Forbes ad notes "Successors to TARBOX & BOGART." | |
