| Description: |  | The nature of my invention consists, firstly, in a novel combination of a revolving grinding-wheel and carriage or-vise for holding the work to be ground, the latter having, in addition to a reciprocating motion across the periphery of the grinder, and in addition to the feed,, an adjustability on the bed that carries it, to give it a parallel or angular set relatively to the axis of the grinder and, further, consists in a like combination in which the carriage is provided with a revolving mandrel that serves to rotate the work; and of a similar combination made to automatically establish the feed of the work to the grinder, or latter to the former likewise, in a novel combination, with a reciprocating carriage, of an adjustable friction-wheel contrivance and feed connecting devices, to facilitate change of the feed from an automatic to a hand one; and in a peculiar double wheel pawl escapement feeding motion set in action by the reciprocating carriage. |  |
