Description: |
| The wrench has reversible ratchet heads at both ends, with different size sockets on opposite sides. One wrench would have four commonly used sizes. The center slide shifts a single leaf spring which shifts both sets of pawls.
A known example marked only with the patent date appears to correspond to Miller's Sept. 2, 1884 modified case patent (no. 304,542).
The patent is also cited in a double-end ratchet wrench that incorporates modifications patented by David Follett on January 12, 1886 (no. 334,010). |
