Description: |
The ratchet head and pawl are similar to that later adopted for the R.F. Sedgley HEXALL ratchet. One distinctive feature of this ratchet is the spring for the ratchet pawl which also switches the ratchet direction by being moved to one or the other side of a boss on the handle.
The ratchet was adapted as the driver for the WILL B. LANE UNIQUE Ratchet and Socket wrench set. In early 1914, Lane gave a Philadelpia address; later the company's address was Chicago.
Compare the ratchet and pawl structure to Willey B. Lane's 1910 patent nos. 969,379 and 979,862, produced as LANE'S RATCHET SCREW DRIVER AND WRENCH. |
