| Description: | | This hook-jaw self-adjust pipe wrench has two size ranges which can be selected by swinging the hook jaw fully back. The pivot end of the hook-jaw is cam-shaped to fit into either of two curved notches in the back side of the main shank.
Known example marked COOKS PATENT JAN 28 1890. It resembles the "COOK'S PATENT" pipe wrench offered by the Cincinnati Tool Co. in 1897.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-34,372 granted May 21, 1890 is reflected in an example of the wrench marked only with the Canadian patent date. | |
