HILL*S HOG RINGER and RINGS (FLICKR)

| Description: | | A sliding collar on one handle acts as a setting stop. The jaws are shaped differently than in Hill's previous hog ring pliers patent (no. 130,853, issued Aug. 27, 1872).
An 1891 hardware catalog lists HILL'S IMPROVED with a set screw to differentiate it from the "no set screw" style which is also listed. The "straight back" blank ring shown in the patent appears in three sizes - No. 1 Pig, No. 2 Shoat, No. 3 Hog. | |
