Description: |
Locking mechanism used in one iteration of UTICA 93 series SELECT-O-LOCK adjustable wrenches. The sliding adjustment lock pulls out and turns with the adjusting worm in the "unlocked" position, and pushes in to lock the worm to the frame.
The "SELECT-O-LOCK" trademark was registered in 1956. By 1960, "SELECT-O-LOCK" appeared as a pivoting thumb-controlled lever [viz. patent no. 2,913,942], but the wrenches continued to be listed as No. 93 (chrome) and No. 94 (black) series.
The specifications of 2,729,999 cite patent nos. 2,596,266, 2,657,606, 2,687,662, and 2,692,523 as references.
