| Description: | | The adjusting nut has wedge-shaped threads. The back side of the movable jaw has a spring that keeps the adjusting nut engaged with the rack on the main shank. For rapid adjustment, pushing on the back of the movable jaw to compress the spring allows free movement of the movable jaw.
Du Shane had a second parallel patent for another form of rapid-transit wrench (pat. no. 331,188). | |
