| Description: | | The tool combines the functions of tack-hammer, nail claw, pipe tongs (gas pliers), nut cracker, wire cutter, and screw-driver. The usage examples noted in the specifications are household -- tacking down carpets, working on gas lights, etc.
A known example is shown as No. 86 in "Collectors Guide For Fencing Tools", by Richard Smith Sr. & Jr. of Walnut Grove, MO (2005).
This tool and the SOUDERS TACK HAMMER / TACK PULLER combo tool (patent no. 371,105) are so similar in appearance they could be confused until both are brought together. The ELY COMBINATION is more robust. | |
