Description: |
The base of the movable jaw has cheek pieces with threads on the exterior. The opening through the movable jaw has a tapered face on the side facing the jaw, and a slight interior depression to hold the base of a small rack. The main bar of the the wrench has rack teeth on the back side, facing the rack in the movable jaw. The movable jaw also includes the adjusting nut, and a sliding wedge which is held in place by the adjusting nut.
When assembled, a half turn of the adjusting nut is sufficient to slide the wedge inward and clamp the rack piece against the main bar to hold the adjustment; a loosening half turn releases the wedge enough to allow the jaw to slide freely. |
