| Description: | | The adjustment nut and threaded shank of the movable jaw are enclosed in a rectangular sleeve, and both jaws have replaceable gripping surfaces. The extended sleeve also acts as a secondary handle to release the grip when the wrench is used on pipe.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes a SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN mention of the patent that implies Kasch intended to produce the wrench.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-35,436 was granted Nov. 19, 1890. | |
