| Description: | | This gage uses some simple geometry to produce a very clever
tool. It is used for marking off square stock such that it can be
taken to octagonal form. It marks both sides at once, and
automatically adjusts to any size. It can even handle tapered
	 stock!
The premise on this tool is pretty straightforward. There is a
fixed geometrical relationship between the size of a square and
the size of the triangles which need to be removed to make an
octagon from that square. Vaughan simply created a tool that put
markers at the proper place, and added pivoting heads so that it
could automatically adjust to any size of square. | |
