| Like parallel patent no. 1,651,575, this patent shows a latch to catch the gripping chain of a chain pipe wrench similar to Bessolo's patent 1,548,344.
In this patent, the latch is a spring tensioned bolt with teeth on the end. A tab on the other end allows the bolt to be pulled back to free the grip.
