| Description: |  | Strap wrench; the patented aspect is the method of holding the strap in the head. A wedge placed in a bight of the strap holds it in a tapered throat in the head. The wrench also is distinctive in that the handle is separate from the head. 
Introduced as the B.L. WRENCH in 1903 - initial announcements to the trade noted its potential use as a nail claw and the relative capacities of the two sizes produced; it was still advertised in 1908. |  |
