Description: |
This is the immediate predecessor to the Phillips screw. Thompson was reportedly unable to find anyone who could manufacture his screw and then sold his rights to Henry F. Phillips, who in turn licensed the design to American Screw Company, who quickly lined up General Motors as a customer.
