| Description: | | A pocket tool which can be carried "closed" and quickly placed in operative position. A stud on the shank of the working portion of the tool slides in a slot. A friction spring provides tension to help keep the working portion of the tool in position. An outer tube encloses handle. The drawings show the working portion as a screwdriver; the specifications note other small tools which could employ this handle structure.
Appears in a 1904 WESTERN ELECTRIC Co. catalog as the "Up-To-Date" pocket screwdriver in three sizes. | |
