| The basic principle in this patent is side lugs to prevent lateral movement of the adjustable jaw. The drawings show a pipe wrench modification of the TRIMO nut wrench of the period; the specifications state the configuration would apply to pipe or nut wrenches. 
Kenerson's Jan. 4, 1927 patent 1,613,229 shows a further refinement of the "extended length frame with side lugs" for a pipe wrench in the drawings, although that patent is for the "nut guards." |
