Description: |
The patent describes a one-piece crank shaft and related bearing structure for bicycles. Fauber's one-piece pedal crank was widely used in bicycles after its introduction. Early notices name "Fauber & Norton" as producers. An 1899 ad lists W.H. Fauber (Chicago) as manufacturer. In 1901, Fauber's company moved to Elgin, IL.
The patent is referenced on combination hook and pin spanner wrenches designed to work with the bearings. Similar wrenches also reference a related sprocket wheel design patent (D31,194). |
