Description: |
| The specifications and claims deal with details of construction that distinguish this design from other similar "wire muzzle" type weaners that allow grazing, but prevent sucking when the animal's head is raised.
Charles J. Quinn organized the Iowa Muzzle Co., his son Charles C. Quinn was Secretary and Manager of the company. In 1905 Charles C. Quinn was also listed as partner in the Carroll Muzzle Co., Carroll, Iowa.
A few years later, Charles C. Quinn organized Quinn Wire & Iron at Scranton, Iowa. When that plant burned, the business relocated to Boone, IA. "Shaw's Latest," "Hart" and "DIAMOND PRONG" weaners were Listed for Quinn Wire & Iron in a 1917 directory.
