Description: |
| This patent covers the Siccama flute design which was quite popular in the mid-19th century. It was an attempt to produce an instrument with improved tone and tuning and the approach was essentially larger holes with wider spacing. Such holes made a virtual necessity of having keys to cover the holes rather than have bare holes. |
