Austrian Patent 100,163 - edited drawing

Description:
Machine translation of claims: "Device for fixing the handle and the head of wrenches and the like, which is connected to it by a joint and equipped with a ratchet mechanism, in various angular positions, characterized by a U-shaped spring-loaded bracket, one leg of which is guided in the hollow joint pin and the other leg of which is guided in a bore of one joint part and each engages in one of the holes arranged on a circle around the joint axis on the second joint part."

This is the "hinge joint" portion of the handle and ratchet in German DE-402,483 and British GB-205,819. Those patents' claims focus on the ratchet structure.

This "hinge joint" structure appears in the handle of "ALL-IN-ONE" distributed in the U.S. by Emil Schwarz (Chicago). That tool has been linked to U.S. patent 1,629,205, German patent DE-425,020, etc.
