Description:
According to the 1902 Advance Thresher Co. catalog, the Forsyth weigher was the dominant weighing device used on grain threshers; their Himes and Herald threshers were fitted with these patent weighers for automatically apportioning and bagging the grain.

This patent is an improvement on the inventor's patent 405,728. The inventor also received a Canadian patent for his grain scales, 1892 patent CA-39,854.
