Description: |
| The tire lug wrench is a crank-handled socket; the remainder of the patented tool is a folding extension shaft to reach a jack positioned beneath an automobile. The design facilitates compact storage and efficient use of materials. Walker had a second patent for a similar combination jack handle and tire-lug wrench. The jack style shown in the drawings appears in WALKER ads of the period as No. 500. See also entry for RE-17,050 for image of a WALKER screw jack of this general type.
See also 1,721,756 for a similar design. Crank wrench - extension handles of this types for Walker No. 500 Series jacks with "long folding crank handles" appear in 1928 ads. |
