Description: |
"The nature of this invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a wrench, designed especially for use on carriages..." The invention consists of a modified chuck that can open wide enough to hold a nut, and can hold the nut securely enough to turn it.
Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-4,087 issued November 25, 1874 for a "Combined Carriage Wrench and Bit-Brace" includes an additional drawing clearly showing the sweep of the brace. It also gives a different address for Mr. Wright. |
