Description: |
Thumb controlled "lever" to prevent accidental alteration of the adjustment of "worm" adjustable wrench. The specifications broadly deprecate other means of accomplishing this objective.
Used in UTICA "SELECT-O-LOCK" adjustable wrenches beginning ca. 1960, replacing an earlier style of adjustment lock based on patent 2,729,999. Utica Catalog No. 67 shows this wrench in 6, 8, 10, and 12 inch sizes. A 1973 MAC catalog shows the same design in multiple sizes.
Patent nos. 1,367,408, 1,599,162, 1,749,002, 2,309,529, 2,688,893, 2,714,323, 2,755,693 and 2,780,124 are cited as references. |
