The core-piece, therefore, is slightly smaller in diameter than the inside of the tubing body, reducing friction. Also, there are secondary cutters (d) just behind the primary cutters, which make shear cuts on a tangent to the core, with the aim of smoothing the core's surfaces and further reducing friction.This patent was granted an extension by/before 1874. |  |
